Form eight 1/2 cup-sized ice cream balls using a scoop. Using a baking sheet, freeze for approximately one hour or until solid.

In a shallow bowl, mix the cinnamon and cornflakes. Beat the egg whites in another basin until frothy.

Coat ice cream balls entirely with cornflakes after rolling them in egg whites. If required, repeat. Freeze once more for three hours, or until solid.

In a big, heavy saucepan or deep fryer, heat the oil to 375 degrees Fahrenheit (190 degrees Celsius).

Fry ice cream balls one or two at a time in heated oil using a basket or slotted spoon until golden, 10 to 15 seconds. Quickly drain onto paper towels, then serve right away.
