Birthday Cake Ice Cream
It doesn’t take someone’s birthday to enjoy this incredibly creamy, joyful frozen delight, homemade birthday cake ice cream! including pieces of vanilla cake with sprinkles.
Customs Around Birthdays
Everybody has unique birthday customs, and the majority of them entail cake of some kind!
Since the birth of our first child, our family has created a homemade cake in the flavour of the birthday boy (or girl, in my case!).
We all simply start eating after the candles are blown out! There are no plates or forks to break. That, of course, only applies to our close family. Doing that with visitors would be a little strange!
I knew that birthday cake had to be on the list of recipes I wanted to create for my homemade ice cream week. I think my favourite part is the pieces of vanilla cake floating through it, but every youngster loves it!
Which type of cake is best to use?
You may top your ice cream with vanilla cake and frosting in two different ways. It is possible to create a basic vanilla cake and decorate it with delicious homemade buttercream or store-bought frosting.
Using a box mix and following the instructions to make it into a large baking sheet with sides is the easiest and fastest method to accomplish this. Make sure you apply plenty of frying spray grease to it.
Bake for ten to twelve minutes at 350 degrees. Allow to cool fully before icing.
This ice cream recipe won’t use the full cake. About two cups of delicious crushed goodness.
Purchasing two vanilla cupcakes from your neighbourhood bakery or grocery shop and crumbling them is the second method. They both function incredibly well.

Which kind of sprinkles should I use?
Probably the most crucial component of this recipe to get perfect is the sprinkles.
When adding the sprinkles to the ice cream, you must use a solid sprinkle that won’t bleed. Usually, that entails employing a “jimmie.” These Rainbow Jimmies were used in my recipe.
Unlike nonpareils, these sprinkles are not coated in candy. Those that are coloured on the outside should be avoided, as they will swirl into your white ice cream foundation.
Ingredients
- One-half cup granulated sugar
- one-half cup heavy cream
- one-half cup half-and-half
- 1/2 cup Rainbow Sprinkle Jimmies
- 1 tsp. Pure Vanilla Extract
- 1 tsp. Pure Almond Extract
- 2 Bakery Cupcakes with Vanilla Frosting
Instructions
- Combine sugar, half-and-half, and whipping cream in a sizable bowl.
- Until the sugar dissolves, stir.
- Pour in the almond and vanilla extracts.
- Fill the ice cream maker with the mixture.
- Crumble or finely cut both cupcakes, then set aside.
- Switch it on and give it a 20- to 25-minute run.
- Sprinkle in the cupcake crumbs and mix in the sprinkles once they begin to solidify and become partially frozen.
- Stir for a further two minutes.
- Shake well, and transfer the ice cream to a medium-sized container.
- Freeze for four hours, then scoop and serve.
